MITI
In January 2017, I was awarded qualified membership of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) after successfully completing its assessment for translation from German to English. It qualifies me to offer certified translations of official documents.
In March 2020, I provided administrative evidence to acquire ISO certification.
BA (Hons) German and ab initio Russian
In 2002, I graduated from the University of Bath with a 2:1 Hons. after following the four-year Modern Languages and European Studies degree programme. The course included language modules, cultural studies, political units and translation classes, as well as a year abroad. During this time, I spent 4 months at a language school in Voronezh, Russia, followed by 5 months at the University of Konstanz in Germany, where I took both language and translation modules.
PGCE
After briefly teaching English in Russia, I moved to Wales and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC, now Cardiff Metropolitan University). I specialised in teaching 3 to 5-year-olds and took the opportunity to study a new language: Welsh.
